Guillaume Azéma

Position: Associate Professor

Research Topics

In the fields of education and training, I study the activities of various categories of actors—including practitioners, teacher-trainers, student-trainees, and students—as they interact with other actors, and/or with physical or technical environments, and/or with animals (currently, horses). My work leads to the production of insights and resources concerning professional (and personal) development. The concept of improvisation plays a central role in this. I construct and analyze my data within the framework of enactive cultural anthropology developed by the “cours d’action” research program.

Courses

Designed for professionals in primary and secondary education, as well as in the fields of education and training, my courses focus on their actual work and address issues related to teaching and learning interactions.

Responsibilities

I am responsible for TU TU and 06 (Research) and TU and 04 (Teaching Practice and Professional Development) in the Teaching Practice and Educational Relationships (TERE) track of the Master’s in Teaching, Education, and Training (MEEF) program.
