Alain Jean

My research focuses primarily on the analysis of work and activity. In this regard, my main approach is grounded in the conceptual framework of professional didactics (Pastré) and the “clinic of activity” (Clot). I also work with the model of professional adjustment gestures (Bucheton), which analyzes the overarching concerns of teachers and trainers in real-world situations. My research is conducted within the contexts of initial and continuing vocational education and, more broadly, adult education. I am also interested in training methods involving simulation in education, competency assessment, and the development of professional knowledge.

Responsibilities are distributed as follows:

  • the engineering sciences track in high school and the industrial sciences and technology track in vocational high school as part of the MEEF master’s program, offered by the Faculty of Education, a partner of ESPE-LR
  • the Bachelor's degree program in "Industrial Sciences and Technology" for Education and Training (STIEF), offered by the School of Education.
  • TU , part of the Trainer Training Program (FFEFF) for the MEEF master's degree

Served as chair on various selection committees for associate professors at the Faculty of Education.
