Narrativity and Expressive Writing: An Institutional Study in the Field of Social and Medical-Social Services
1. Area of focus and the perspective through which I approach it
My research falls within the cognitive (expressive writing) and analytical (narrativity) approaches.
2. The main approach that guides my work
The approaches I examine are informed by psychoanalysis and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The epistemological foundations will be grounded in theories of narrativity and expressive writing.
Furthermore, a philosophical approach will complement this analysis, as will the necessary insights from linguistics and pedagogy. The latter is made all the more possible through a discursive study of the subject. The “biographical narrative constitutes a professional discourse specifically focused on the relationship to oneself and to interpersonal skills.” Helping professionals work in fields where the relationship to oneself (and to others)” (Torterat, 2011) is expressed.
3. My Areas of Research
The topic I am discussing is observed through the work of professionals in the social and medical-social sectors who work in institutions, whether public or private (nonprofit organizations): senior managers, directors, department heads, and multidisciplinary teams (social workers, paramedical staff, psychologists, administrative staff, etc.).
