Tutorials for using AREN
Here are several tutorials to guide you in using the AREN debate platform (PDF file containing all explanations: here):
- Create your account and log in to the platform:

- The steps in a nutshell: go to the AREN website, click on "register," fill in the fields, and be sure to check "request authorization to create discussions."
- Easily create logins for a group of students:

- The steps in a nutshell: log in to AREN, click on "Groups," then "User Management," then "Create Class," and finally copy and paste the list of students (on successive lines with each student's first and last name).
- Prepare a debate (based on a text of your choice):

- The steps in a nutshell: log in to AREN, upload a text (by clicking on "Documents," then "New Category," which creates a thumbnail, then on the symbol that represents adding a text) and open a discussion (by clicking on "Open a Discussion," selecting the group of students, then the text to be discussed).
- Log in to the platform, access the debate, and participate (for students):

- The steps in a nutshell: log in to AREN, click on the thumbnail and then on the debate banner indicated by the teacher, select a passage from the text to be debated or another student's contribution to the debate, click on "disagree," "somewhat agree," or "didn't understand," then write your argument.
