SPD axis seminar

The next SPD seminar will take place on Friday October 21 from 10am to 12:30pm in room A109.
A login link is available for those unable to attend.

Following a presentation of the organization of the 2022-23 seminars and an update on current events, the mathematics didactics team will present and compare different schemes involving researchers in mathematics didactics and teachers, to launch a discussion on this type of scheme.

Below is a summary of the presentation:

Between research, teaching and training: reflections on a comparison of different schemes involving mathematics didactics researchers and teachers

In recent years, the theme of collaboration between researchers and teachers has come to the fore in mathematics didactics in connection with the issue of teacher training, renewing the question of research arrangements involving didactic "realizations" "in the classroom" with that of "the relationship between research and action on the teaching system" (Artigue, 1988, p. 283).

LIRDEF researchers have experimented with a number of projects involving researchers in the didactics of mathematics, some of which are still ongoing. These projects are quite diverse, both in terms of the theoretical background against which they were conceived and the research questions that led to their creation. Based on a corpus of four experimental research projects on mathematics teaching, involving researchers in mathematics didactics and primary and secondary school teachers, we propose to discuss a number of research areas on which we are working within the LIRDEF mathematics didactics team, and in conjunction with other researchers, as part of an interdisciplinary approach. These concern the collaborative dimension between teachers and researchers, the role of the researcher in such schemes, the question of effects in terms of teachers' professional development, and the characterization of professional development in relation to the identification of indicators of such development.
