The University of Burgundy is offering a position as Educational Advisor in Higher Education (M/F)
Mission
The educational advisor in higher education supports teachers and teaching teams in their initial and ongoing professional development in order to contribute to the quality of teaching. They also participate in the implementation of educational policy within the institution.
Main activities
- Participate in the analysis of needs, the design, and implementation of educational training activities for teachers at the school.
- Identifying training needs
- Development of the training program
- Searching for and monitoring contributing experts
- Quantitative and qualitative evaluation of training provision
- Registration management
- Certificate management
- Conducting educational training workshops
- Formulation of educational objectives
- Content selection
- Choice of working methods and facilitation techniques
- Material preparation
- Workshop facilitation
- Measuring the impact of the workshop (quantitative and qualitative)
- Design and distribute documentary resources to support teachers and teaching teams in their ongoing professional development, encourage reflection on teaching practices, and promote the teaching mission and educational initiatives.
Related activities
- Promote exchanges and develop networks between all stakeholders involved in teaching within the institution (development of communities of practice) and outside it (national and international working networks with other teams of educational advisors).
- Contribute to developing and disseminating research in higher education pedagogy through scientific monitoring and participation in educational research projects.
- Support the implementation of training and teaching evaluations to contribute to the quality assurance process in education.
Expected skills
Knowledge
- Mastery of theories, concepts, and methods in education
- Proficiency in instructional design and training tools
- In-depth knowledge of coaching methodologies (individual and organizational).
- General knowledge of the organization and functioning of the university and the professional context of the target audience (teachers and researchers). Knowledge of information and communication technologies and their application to teaching.
- Knowledge of teaching evaluation systems.
- Knowledge of survey and interview methods and techniques in the humanities.
- English: comprehension and written and oral expression
Know-how
- Identify the pedagogical training needs of higher education teachers, develop and facilitate training workshops.
- Conducting an interview: welcoming, listening, advising, and supporting.
- Master group facilitation techniques.
- Master oral and written presentation techniques.
- Develop teaching materials.
- Monitor scientific developments in the field of higher education pedagogy.
- Design a communication campaign.
Interpersonal skills
- Working as a team and in partnership: mobilizing and leading a group and a network of stakeholders and exchanges of practices.
- Methodological rigor, analytical and synthesis skills.
- Empathetic, attentive, non-prescriptive, and reflective attitude
Expected profile
Master's degree in one of the following fields: Education Sciences, Psychology, Sociology
Professional experience in teaching, and/or adult education, and/or instructional design would be an advantage.
Place of practice
The activity takes place at the Center for Educational Innovation and Evaluation (CIPE) at the University of Burgundy, AAFE Campus, Esplanade Erasme, in Dijon.
Restrictions and conditions of practice
Working hours may vary depending on the academic calendar and professional constraints. Travel within France and abroad may be required from time to time.
Job identification
- Status: University contract employee for a period of one year, potentially renewable for one year before opening up to the national civil service exam for permanent positions.

- Position in the organizational chart: reports to the Director and the Head of Educational Innovation
- Salary: IGE grade, level based on experience
