The University of Burgundy is offering a position as an Educational Advisor in Higher Education (M/F)


’s Role In higher education, the educational advisor supports faculty members and teaching teams in their initial and ongoing professional development in teaching to help ensure the quality of instruction. The advisor also helps implement the institution’s educational policy.

Main Activities

  • Participate in the needs assessment, design, and implementation of professional development programs for the school’s teachers.
  • Identifying Training Needs
  • Development of the training program
  • Identification and Follow-Up of Participating Experts
  • Quantitative and Qualitative Evaluation of the Training Program
  • Registration Management
  • Certificate Management
  • Conducting teacher training workshops
  • Formulation of Learning Objectives
  • Content Selection
  • Choosing Work and Facilitation Methods
  • Material Preparation
  • Workshop Facilitation
  • Measuring the workshop's impact (quantitative and qualitative)
  • To develop and distribute educational resources to assist teachers and teaching teams in their ongoing professional development, support reflective practice regarding teaching methods, and promote the teaching mission and educational initiatives.

Related Activities

  • Promote exchanges and develop networks among all stakeholders involved in education within the institution (development of communities of practice) and outside it (national and international working networks with other teams of educational advisors).
  • To contribute to the development and dissemination of research in higher education pedagogy through scientific monitoring and participation in educational research projects.
  • Support the implementation of course and program evaluations to contribute to the quality assurance process in education.

Required Skills

Knowledge

  • Proficiency in educational theories, concepts, and methods
  • Proficiency in instructional design and training tools
  • In-depth knowledge of coaching methodologies (individual and organizational).
  • General knowledge of the university’s structure and operations, as well as the professional context of the target audience (faculty members). Knowledge of information and communication technologies and their application in teaching.
  • Knowledge of course evaluation systems.
  • Knowledge of research and interview methods and techniques in the humanities.
  • English: Reading Comprehension, Written Expression, and Oral Expression

Expertise

  • Identify the professional development needs of higher education faculty in the area of pedagogy, and design and facilitate training workshops.
  • Conducting an interview: welcoming, listening, advising, and supporting.
  • Master group facilitation techniques.
  • Master oral and written presentation skills.
  • Develop educational materials.
  • Conduct scientific research in the field of higher education pedagogy.
  • Design a communication campaign.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Working as a team and in partnership: mobilizing and facilitating a group and a network of stakeholders and the exchange of best practices.
  • Methodological rigor, analytical skills, and the ability to synthesize information.
  • An empathetic, attentive, non-prescriptive, and reflective approach

Desired Profile

Master's degree in one of the following fields: Education, Psychology, Sociology

Professional experience in teaching, and/or adult education, and/or instructional design would be a plus.

Place of Practice

The program is based at the Center for Educational Innovation and Evaluation (CIPE) at the University of Burgundy, AAFE Campus, Esplanade Erasme, in Dijon.

Requirements and Conditions for Practice

Work hours may vary depending on the academic calendar and professional requirements. Occasional travel within France and abroad is required.

Job Description

  • Status: University contract employee for a term of 1 year, potentially renewable for one year before eligibility for the national competitive examination for permanent civil service positions
  • Job Title: Design Engineer
  • Faculty, Administration, Department: CIPE, ESPE, University of Burgundy
  • Position within the organizational chart: reports to the Director and the Head of Educational Innovation
  • Salary: IGE grade, pay step based on experience
