Tréma. Educational Uses of Comics

Proposals for articles must be submitted by February 15, 2018

There seems to be a consensus that comics have a place in schools, and they are being used across many disciplines, from elementary school through college.
This raises questions about what exactly is being done with, or about, comics. Are comics becoming commonplace in classrooms? To what extent, and in what ways? How can the medium’s unique characteristics be taken into account in the activities that utilize it? What pitfalls should be avoided, particularly regarding the skills expected of students, which are sometimes underestimated due to the perceived ease of reading offered by comics?
This issue of Tréma, an international journal in educational sciences, will address these issues surrounding the educational uses of comics.

Call for Papers

1. The Role of Comics in Actual Teaching Practices

 2. The unique nature of the medium.

3. Students' skills.
