Narrativity and expressive writing: an institutional study in the field of social and medico-social action

1. Prioritized knowledge domain and the perspective through which I approach it

My research falls within the cognitive (expressive writing) and analytical (narrativity) approaches.

2. Main approach guiding my work

The approaches I examine are based on psychoanalysis and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The epistemological underpinnings are rooted in the theories of narrativity and expressive writing.

A philosophical approach completes the picture, as do the necessary linguistic and didactic insights. The latter is made all the more possible by the discursive study of the subject. The "biographical narrative" is a professional discourse specifically concerned with the relationship with oneself and with self-knowledge. Professionals in the helping professions are in a position to express their relationship with themselves (and with others)" (Torterat, 2011).

3. My survey areas

The subject I'm addressing is observed through the practice of professionals in the social and medico-social sector working in institutions, whether public or private (non-profit associations): executives, directors, heads of department, multidisciplinary teams (social workers, paramedics, psychologists, administrative staff, etc.).
