ERES

Team presentation

The ERES team is interested in the history of teaching and the teaching and learning processes in mathematics and physics, in a school context, mainly in primary and secondary education.

The team brings together researchers in the history and philosophy of science, in the history of teaching, and in the didactics of science. As a result, it has a number of specific features, including :

  • The team's didactic research draws heavily on epistemology and the history of science.
  • Another specific feature of ERES is that it relies on a team of researchers in the didactics of mathematics and physics to develop research on inter-didactic mathematics-physics issues, particularly on the theme of magnitudes and measurement.

Research projects

ProjetAREN:ARgumentation Et Numérique (in charge of Manuel Bächtold)

ANRFORMSCIENCES: Study of the impact of a science teaching training program on teachers' practices and students' learning (Valérie Munier)

OIPA project: International Observatory of Algebraic Thinking (Alain Bronner in charge)

ProjetTransitionécole-collège: Difficulties inherent in the transition from primary to secondary school and the role of this transition in accentuating inequalities at school: the case of science teaching (Aurélie Chesnais and Karine Molvinger)

Seminars and symposia

A reading seminar is held once a month on a variety of themes (in 2015-2016 the articles chosen focus on teacher knowledge, and teacher training issues).

Managers: Manuel Bachtold and Aurélie Chesnais

A monthly seminar is held on Friday mornings, on the same days as the laboratory's plenary meetings. It enables doctoral students and team researchers to present and discuss their work.

Another seminar was set up in 2014-15 and is continuing this year: "Penser l'objet" (leader Muriel Guedj).
