EPS Research Track Seminar
The agenda for the seminar this Friday, March 25, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., includes the following items:
1.Presentation of the SOLALECOLE project by Manon Bodin (SOLALECOLE intern), Nathalie Fromin (CEFE researcher and project leader), and Christian Reynaud
The SOLALECOLE project aims to support the development of citizen science projects focused on urban agroecology in middle schools. Cities are highly specific ecosystems where biodiversity faces significant pressures (land development, pollution, heat islands, etc.). Citizens reclaiming public spaces—particularly through the creation and maintenance of urban community gardens—is a transformation that addresses these challenges. However, this transformation is not without its challenges, and we cannot and should not assume that citizen engagement will always be sustained. The project aims to design and implement a methodological approach at two sites (Montpellier and Nancy) in pilot middle schools. We use soil science, environmental psychology, and participatory simulation to collectively study participants’ motivations and limitations in pursuing and sustaining this urban agroecology initiative.
2.Group discussion (in-person preferred)
3.Miscellaneous Questions
This seminar will be held in a hybrid format (in Room A109 and online)
