Thesis summary:

This research questions the self-prescription of the ESD curriculum in elementary schools, in particular the possibility of developing self-prescribed local curricula by combining a curricular approach with a territorial approach. The research methodology is based on qualitative empirical work carried out in two municipalities in the south of France. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with thirty-five local educational stakeholders (teachers, elementary school principals, community leaders, parent representatives, trainers, etc.). The interview corpus was analyzed using a combination of thematic content analysis and propositional analysis.
