Thesis Abstract:
This research study examines the self-prescription of the ESD curriculum in elementary schools, particularly the possibility of developing self-prescribed local curricula by combining a curricular approach with a territorial approach. The research methodology is based on qualitative empirical work conducted in two municipalities in southern France. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with thirty-five local education stakeholders (teachers, elementary school principals, community organization representatives, parent representatives, trainers, etc.). The interview data were analyzed by combining thematic content analysis with propositional analysis.
